Weapon evolution is the key to power in Megabonk. This guide covers everything you need to know about evolving your weapons.

How Evolution Works

Requirements

Level 8 Weapon - The base weapon must be maxed out

Matching Passive - You need the specific passive item

Treasure Chest - Open a chest to trigger evolution

Important Notes

• Passive item does NOT need to be maxed


• Only one evolution per chest


• Evolved weapons can't evolve again


• Some evolutions are "union" (combine two weapons)

Best Evolution Priorities

Tier 1 - Get These First

Bloody Tear - Heals you while dealing damage

Unholy Vespers - Massive damage increase

Holy Wand - Great tracking and damage

Tier 2 - Strong Options

Thousand Edge - Excellent single-target

Death Spiral - Great AoE

Thunder Loop - Chain lightning is powerful

Tier 3 - Situational

La Borra - Pool damage for kiting

Soul Eater - Good with tank builds

Heaven Sword - Luck-dependent but strong

Evolution Strategy Tips

Early Game

• Don't rush to level 8 on one weapon


• Spread XP across 3-4 weapons


• Get passive items that enable your evolutions

Mid Game

• Focus on getting your first evolution


• One evolved weapon is better than two level 8s


• Time chest opens for optimal evolution

Late Game

• Try to evolve all 6 weapons


• Prioritize highest-impact evolutions


• Consider union evolutions for power spikes
